One of the best innovations in combat is camouflage. If you can keep the enemy from seeing you, they can’t fight you. Even if they know you’re there, and try to fight you, they’re far less effective.
The science of warfare is a never ending race between camouflage and detection. Infrared detectors helps penetrate simple visual camo, but there are ways to break up an IR footprint.
Law enforcement also uses camouflage in undercover work. If they want to bring down a ring of drug dealers and suppliers, they’ll find someone to “become” one of the bad guys. They infiltrate, get information, and pass it along. The drug raid is set up, and the good guys grab as many of the bad guys as possible.
That disguise and camouflage works on both sides, too. A drug dealer will infiltrate a new market for their product in order to boost sales. Trying to get a younger person addicted could provide decades of revenue. They could also get friends hooked. That’s a bonus for the dealers and providers.
God’s chief opponent isn’t an idiot, so he uses camouflage, too. One of his best tactics is to convince folks that he isn’t there. And as mentioned, you can’t effectively fight what you can’t see.
He also breaks up his “footprint.” A politician will say it’s a good idea to enact “this” legislation, or prevent “that” law from being ratified. People on either side of the political aisle will support or fight against that politician, and all the while Satan wins either way. He has people fighting over something that doesn’t really matter.
How can we avoid the pitfalls of that sort of thing? By electing people of virtue instead of people who have their values invested in a political party.
Think about it. How often have we seen a politician vote for a bill simply because it was promoted by their party? How often have we seen that same type of politician vote against something simply because the idea came from someone of the “opposite” party?
The controversies of recent years all boil down to the same issue: if you support R you hate everything D. If you support D you hate everything R. I’ve written about this before, but it bears reinforcement: politicians and sports figures and Hollywood stars cannot save you.
If you value the environment, screeching about global warming won’t help. If you value the Constitution, beating your chest won’t help. The death penalty, abortion, or any other cause of the moment won’t be solved by calling the other side evil for not advocating for your issue.
The best tactic is to get folks to believe in Jesus Christ as their only way to salvation. The bible teaches environmental stewardship. Nobody who supports the R wants to destroy the environment - that’s just a lie told by someone who has really good camouflage. The same thing goes abortion. Nobody wants to get pregnant and kill their unborn baby. Both of those would be insane.
Issue after issue is simply a tactic to break up the IR signature of evil. When you strip away the camo of evil by shining the light of Jesus on the issue, we can see what’s really at work.
But as I mentioned, people have to look behind the issue to see what’s really at work.
Unfortunately, too many only want to yell. If it’s not about how widgets will be the death of us, it’ll be the wodgets.
The puppet master will keep pulling strings until we see what’s going on and cut loose.
