Why do so many Americans fight against Christianity? There is a movement to get rid of “In God We Trust” from our currency. Christian wording in our Pledge of Allegiance – which wasn’t added until 1954, by the way – is being fought. Monuments in parks and courtrooms cause lawsuits from atheist organizations. Why? Are Islamic monuments being fought? Do these “atheists” hate all religions? It seems as if they only fight Christ. Could it be because deep down they know the only real God is Jesus? I contend that is exactly the reason. My opinion is that the people raging against the one true God have a hatred of Him, and only He can offend them to that point. TV shows feature all different faiths, all treated with respect, but any show that has a Christian character portrays them as nut jobs. Christianity is never treated as a valid faith worthy of taking seriously. Public colleges can teach classes on Islam, but any class that seriously teaches Christianity must include other faiths as a balance. It’s unreasonable, really, the way God is treated. This is my opinion: Since a negative cannot be proven, you can’t prove God doesn’t exist. That means atheism is taken on faith – a religion. So forcing our government to remove references to God is establishing a state religion – something strictly prohibited by the Constitution of the United States of America. I must caution, however, anyone fighting to allow the inclusion of God. Political winds change. If you want to allow Christ in our government, will you be comfortable if another god is recognized? There’s a big contingent of Muslims in the world. What happens if they become a majority in some political entity? They could remove Christ and replace that with Allah. Same with the worship of natural forces. Would “In Mother Nature We Trust” offend you? “One nation, under Odin.” It’s a case of being careful of what you wish for. You might get it.
